How to Measure Your Ash Tree
You'll need a measuring tape or a piece of string. It only takes 60 seconds per tree.

Find a spot on the trunk 4.5 feet above the ground (about chest height on most adults).

Wrap a measuring tape all the way around the trunk at that height. This is the circumference.

No tape? Use a piece of string, wrap it around, then measure the string with a ruler.
